New Zealand Photo Tour Details

One Day
Join our one day Wanaka photo tour and let us guide you through the best spots for photography around the lake Wanaka and experience the helicopter flight in Mount Aspiring National Park. Surrounded by towering Southern alps we will have a great opportunity to shoot stunning landscapes of mountains, glaciers, river valleys and alpine lakes. The region is also known for the wild life and we will try to photograph the mountain endemic parrot – Kea. With our guides you will also have the opportunity to focus on macro and astro photography and learn how to capture the Milky Way.
The tour starts early in the morning to catch the first light touching the mountains behind one of the most beautiful trees in the world – That Wanaka tree. There we will focus mostly on the composition and long exposure photography. Throughout the day we will explore various locations around Wanaka where we’ll aim on shooting waterfalls and also photographing the lake from above. After that we will either take a heli flight to Mount Aspiring National park or explore Rob Roy glacier. There are several options for the helicopter flight provided by local helicopter company starting from approx. $150USD (20 min) to $350USD (1 hour) – We’ll discuss all the details together. However if you are not keen to shoot from the helicopter we will stay on the road and explore Rob Roy glacier – amazing world of mountains, glaciers, river valleys and alpine lakes. As the sky darkens we will finish the tour focusing on capturing the night sky above the Wanaka lake.

Tour Extension | Image Post-Processing
Have you ever wondered how some works of photography stand well apart from the rest? This tour extension on digital post-processing will help you bring out the best from your photographs, after you have transferred them from your camera. I’m offering you a special three hours post-processing lesson (usually on the following day after the tour) where I’m going to explain you how do I edit photos in Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom and teach you how to achieve stunning look of your images and bring them to life. Martin is very passionate and knowledgeable about post processing techniques and loves teaching people about editing photos. Learn from him to bring the touch of perfection to your digital images and discover how to post-process your photographs to make them stand out.
