About one year ago I found ViewBug – very fast growing website for professional and amateur photographers focusing on the competitions with very interesting prizes. Well, I honestly attend photo contests very rarely and this free competition was just a try.
It was always my dream to visit and photograph the life of the monks in Himalayan monasteries. There are actually many places in Asia where to go to experience Buddhism but we decided to go right to the center which is probably Ladakh district in Northern India. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet.
This October was quite special for me. I had the opportunity to cooperate with Exclusive Tours – travel agency from Czech Republic which hired me to photograph their trip to New Zealand and prepare photos also for a new magazine “Travel Design”.
During our stay in New Zealand we had the opportunity to cooperate with local travel agencies like Trips & Tramps located in Fiordland. The company provides professional guided tours, cruises and helicopter hikes. Since we love tramping in the mountains this was the perfect job for us. It was also great experience to cooperate with man who helped celebrities like Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson or Andris Apse to find the best locations for their movies and photographs.
In the beginning of this year Harris and Lewis Lim asked me for an interview for Bokéh magazine USA. I’m very into activities like this so I accepted this challenge. The complete interview with my pictures on 17 pages came out in March issue, Volume 52, 2017.
